How hire works, what is covered, and the small print — in plain English.
Hiring questions
What does the damage waiver cover? +
The waiver caps your liability for accidental damage at $500 per incident (fair wear excluded). Theft needs a police report; negligence — like running without oil after the warning light — is not covered. Full terms are on every quote.
What fuel policy applies? +
Full-to-full: machines leave with a full tank and return full. If refuelling is easier for us to handle, we charge pump price plus a $15 service fee — agreed in writing first.
How do delivery charges work? +
A flat fee by distance band, quoted up front. Delivery and collection on the same order are bundled at a discount, and long hires earn free moves.
What happens if a machine breaks down? +
Call the hire desk any time. A fitter attends the same day in-area; if we cannot fix it within four working hours, a replacement machine is dispatched and downtime is credited.
Can I extend or off-hire early? +
Yes — one call extends a hire at the same rate. Early off-hire needs 24 hours' notice; weekly and monthly rates are re-averaged in your favour.
Do I need insurance? +
You need hired-in plant insurance or our waiver. Self-drive hires also require suitable operator tickets, which we verify at handover.
Privacy policy
We collect only what a hire needs: your contact details, site information and hire history. Quotes and messages sent through this site go to our hire desk and are never sold or shared with marketers.
Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time; every account-data request (access, correction, deletion) is answered within 30 days at hire@ironcladplanthire.com.
Terms & conditions
Hire periods run from delivery to collection. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise. Hirers are responsible for daily checks, safe operation by competent persons, and security of machines on site.
Off-hire requires 24 hours' notice; machines remain your responsibility until collected. Full CPA-model conditions are attached to every written quote.
